Leonardo DiCaprio (11/11/74, 2:47 am, Los Angeles, CA) has been the lead role in two films that won Best Motion Picture of the Year–Titanic (12/19/97) and The Departed (10/06/06).

On the release date of Titanic TR Jupiter squared his Sun-Venus conjunction at 18-19 Scorpio from 19 Aquarius and on the release date of The Departed TR Jupiter conjoined his Sun-Venus conjunction at 19 Scorpio—interesting correlation made for his involvement as lead actor for best motion pictures.
Blood Diamond was released Dec 08 2006 with a Mercury-Mars-Jupiter conjunction in early Sagittarius (00-01-03 degrees respectively). Leo was nominated for Best Actor with Uranus conjunct his Jupiter and TR Jupiter applying to conjunction with his Neptune (the actor was born under a very tight Jupiter-Neptune square—Jupiter-Neptune being a signature amongst actors). In Blood Diamond he plays an ex-mercenary turned diamond smuggler (Mars in Sag much?). Well it turns out that TR Mars on the release of the film at 01 Sag 51, conjoins his SP Mars at 01 Sag 49! With Mars in Sag fitting the archetype of his role which he did a phenomenal job playing, and transiting Jupiter and Mercury we see the South African accent fantastically articulated.
I also find it interesting that between his early films such as Romeo and Juliet and Titanic where he plays the “lover” and his later films like Gangs of New York, The Departed and Blood Diamond where he plays the “warrior” his progressed Ascendant has shifted from Libra to Scorpio and it is quite apparent in his disposition and his roles as he’s begun to take on a more rugged look, bearing facial hair, a more muscular tone and playing his roles more intensely. The shift to Scorpio Rising has brought out his Sun-Venus-Mars stellium in Scorpio, and it seems as though Leo has made this transition from the beautiful boyish Libran to the handsome, rugged, dark, and sexy Scorpion—sort to speak.
Born with Jupiter in Pisces square Neptune in Sag with the Nodal axis applying he will live most of his life with a very tight progressed Jupiter-Neptune-Node configuration which in my opinion suggests that his academy award will come and I wouldn’t be surprised if he won a life-time achievement award by the end of his career. This configuration also speaks up for his philanthropic effort to make the world better understand global warming and ecological crises. He has a website dedicated to it, and his upcoming documentary “The 11th Hour” is meant to open people’s eyes.
I was inspired to write this blog because The Departed and Blood Diamond were just awesome–I haven’t seen any movies that well-done in a long time.
Leonardo’s intensity as an actor is displayed to the world on the release dates of his films and the transits and progressions reveal a lot of insight into his role. I think the astrological effect of this is so well seen because Leo is known to get intensely immerged into his roles, very often transforming his personality to that of his character, both on and off the set. We not only see how the release dates bear astrological significance to Leonardo’s roles for films like Titanic, Blood Diamond and The Departed but also for some of his films from his younger days like Basketball Diaries where he plays an emotional teenager turned corrupt drug attic with a very tight progressed Moon-Mars-Pluto configuration and progressed Sun conjunct his Neptune. Robert Blaschke replied:
“In 1993, when What’s Eating Gilbert Grape came out (I thought that it was a poignant film and it was the first time I saw Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio act), Leo had a progressed lunar eclipse near to his natal Neptune that year that launched his acting career.”
That is incredibly interesting about his progressed lunar eclipse! Every time I see his chart I’m awed by his Jupiter in Pisces-Neptune in Sag square (what some moderns would describe as a mutual reception), also configured with his Nodes. So it’s no huge surprise that a progressed eclipse over his Jupiter-Neptune-Nodes configuration would launch his fame as an actor–but still very impressive, as always.
